Peaceful Conscious Uncoupling
Peaceful Conscious Uncoupling
Separation and divorce is one of life’s most challenging experiences. Perhaps you’re considering a divorce or separation but don’t know what to do. Or you’re already going through a painful breakup and finding it extremely challenging. Even in the midst of this pain, there is hope.
Be Supported
My role is to provide a supportive space for you to process your emotions, explore your options and make decisions that are right for you.
Gain Clarity
Reflect on what truly matters to you and work towards building a future that aligns with your values and dreams.
Improve Communication
High emotions often hinder effective communication, especially when discussing practical matters like finances, childcare and legal issues. Gain communication strategies to navigate these conversations calmly and constructively.
Separation coaching with me will help you to…
UNCOUPLE HARMONIOUSLY
Learn effective communication techniques to discuss practical matters calmly and constructively, fostering healthier interactions with your ex-partner.
HAVE RENEWED OPTIMISM
Rediscover hope and optimism for the future as you embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal development. Separation can be an opportunity for growth and a chance to redefine your life on your own terms.
REGAIN EMOTIONAL BALANCE
During separation, we can experience a wide range of intense emotions. Separation coaching offers a safe and supportive space to process these feelings, helping you navigate the emotional turbulence with guidance and understanding. I work with both individuals and couples.
CO-PARENT EFFECTIVELY
For couples with children, separation coaching provides invaluable support in transitioning to a co-parenting relationship. Even though your relationship is ending, you’ll be connected as co-parents for a lifetime.
I can help you navigate the complexities of co-parenting dynamics, ensuring the wellbeing of both parents and your children. Having helped my husband with the practicalities of co-parenting his children with his ex-wife, I can truly say I understand the dynamics and inevitable stumbling blocks. I’ve learned through experience and have the skills in my back pocket that can really help in this situation.
GAIN PERSPECTIVE
In the midst of upheaval, it can be difficult to see clearly and make sound decisions. I can help by providing an objective perspective, helping you gain clarity on your situation, goals and options.
DIVORCE AMICABLY
Perhaps you’re going through a divorce and the pain of discussing splitting assets with your partner is too much. Often the legal support we get for divorce does not take into account the emotional aspects of divorce. I can help you through this painful time, either as a couple or as an individual, supporting you to make decisions with clarity that align with your future goals.
I also offer mediation services if talking face-to-face has become too difficult. These are facilitated by a combination of individual sessions and sessions together.

Your questions answered
What exactly is Separation Coaching?
I provide guidance, emotional support and practical strategies to help navigate the challenges associated with ending a relationship.
Separation coaching is a professional partnership that supports you to separate in a way that’s right for you. Unlike therapy, which often focuses on healing and dealing with past traumas, separation and relationship coaching is more action-oriented and focuses on the present and future. It helps individuals and couples understand their relationship dynamics, set relationship goals and develop actionable strategies to improve communication and resolve conflicts constructively.
I specialise with improving communication in intimate relationships. To do this I share strategies on how you can improve your communication skills with your partner so you are better understood and in turn can better understand your partner. When communication improves, conflict lessens and separation matters become easier.
What do you mean by 'strategies'?
A strategy means: defining a goal and what steps are needed to reach that goal, then creating an achievable plan of action that you can follow to achieve that goal.
The goal in communication coaching is to be better understood and in turn better understand your partner. The result of this goal is less conflict.
The foundational strategies for my communication coaching come primarily from a form of communication known as Non-Violent Communication or NVC. I also use principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Are appointments held online or in person?
Appointments are usually held online via Zoom. Alternatively, in-person sessions can be arranged in Henley-on-Thames or Richmond, London for an extra charge of £12 per session to cover the cost of the office space hire.
Can separation coaching help if only one partner is willing to participate?
Yes, separation coaching can still be hugely beneficial either attending as a couple or as an individual. If you’re attending on an individual basis, we’ll work together to redefine your life in a way that’s in alignment with your values and goals, and prioritises your wellbeing.
For couples who are having separating coaching together, I focus on fostering open, honest communication and helping you find common ground so you can come to clear agreements with respect and understanding.
How many coaching sessions would I need?
The duration of separation coaching varies depending on individual or couple needs, the complexity of the issues, and the goals set during the coaching process. Some people see significant progress in just a few sessions, while others may choose to engage in coaching for several months.
I find that the coaching over 1 to 2 months of weekly sessions is a good amount of time for some progress to be made. I offer flexible coaching plans and work with you to determine the best approach and timeline to meet your goals.
Who can benefit from separation coaching?
Anyone in a relationship who is either considering or going through a separation can benefit from separation coaching, regardless of marital status or the stage of the relationship. This includes married couples, those in long-term relationships, individuals dating or seeking a partner, and even people looking to improve non-romantic relationships including business partners, family members and friends.
Separation coaching can be particularly helpful for those going through a divorce to deal with the emotional aspects of separation alongside the practicalities of sorting out finances and transitioning to a co-parenting arrangement.
My coaching style is inclusive and supportive of all backgrounds and relationship types, offering personalised strategies to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.
How does relationship / separation coaching differ from couples therapy?
While both relationship coaching and couples therapy aim to improve relationships, they differ in approach and focus. Couples therapy often addresses deep-seated psychological issues, emotional traumas and past events that affect the relationship.
On the other hand, relationship coaching focuses on the present and future, helping couples or individuals set and achieve relationship goals, improve communication and develop practical strategies for growth. I’ll work with you to build on your strengths, fostering a positive and proactive approach to your relationship.
How do I make the most out of the online sessions?
Have some privacy. It goes without saying that picking a place for the call that is quiet, private and with no distractions is very important so you can really relax and focus on yourself.
Get seated. Makes sure you are seated rather than lying down. Our physical state impacts our emotional state, so being seated keeps you centred, alert and conscious.
Good lighting & camera position. Its great to be able to clearly see you so good lighting and having the camera positioned so I can see all of your face is important.
Which device? A desktop, laptop or something with a good sized screen is preferable to a mobile phone where you may struggle to see faces.
Get fully charged. It’s always frustrating to lose connection at a key point just because your device has run out of juice.
Joint online sessions. If you and your partner are doing an online session together, ideally I recommend being in different rooms and on different computers as you’re able to see each other’s face while talking with me. However, if this is not possible or you prefer to sit together, that’s absolutely fine.
Is separation coaching confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of coaching. I will respect your privacy and ensure that any information shared during coaching sessions remains confidential, unless there is a legal or ethical obligation to disclose certain information.
Can you support me through a divorce?
Yes, I offer support with the emotional, practical and communication aspects of going through the divorce process, which can help alongside of you getting the relevant legal advice and support that you need. I can help you find common ground and improve your communication so that effective discussions and decisions about your future can be made in a collaborative way.
If communication has truly broken down I also offer mediation services, which can help to make these important decisions in a calm and amicable way.
I can provide support and guidance throughout every stage of the divorce process, from coping with the emotional upheaval of ending a marriage, to help get you communicating and in a space where you can make balanced important decisions about asset division, parenting decisions and financial matters. I do not provide any legal advice, but rather focus on coaching you through the communication and emotional aspects of divorce.
